Happy 4 of July 2019 Funny Mr Holt

Hello again!

Today is Thursday and that

means that it'due south time for

another episode of the

Vintage Block Along

I'm sharing another cake with yous

 from my Grandma's design basket:)

I'm using Farm Girl Vintage fabric

for my vintage blocks and

all of the blocks will

somewhen become a quilt ...

that is...

when the Vintage Block Along is over:)

So far I don't see the end

in sight notwithstanding lol sew together...

let'south just keep making vintage blocks

until I feel it's time to

 put them all together!

I'm also using my

Bee Backgrounds Collection

for the blocks.

I exercise this often when making quilts

considering I beloved the style and the

involvement that using all different backgrounds in one quilt looks.

For this sew forth that works out

perfectly considering I cannot requite you

yardage needed for the background

of the quilt as I practice not

 know it's size yet:)

The vintage block for this week

is the skillful one-time tried and true

 Farmers Daughter Block

Information technology has been known by many names

over the years only my favorite

 and the name that Grandma

always called it was Farmers Daughter...

and considering I am a farmers daughter

and also my Grandma's grand girl

I decided to keep the proper name as it is:)

If you participated in my

then this cake is VERY familiar to you!

I used information technology in this quilt considering

of the name and the scrappy happy

nature of the design fabricated it perfect

to get between the rows of applique.

Those are the 5" blocks and

the ones that we are making this week.

I also fabricated ten" blocks

for the corners of my quilt.

I like how the two sizes work together:)

During the sew along

I loved making these

trivial blocks and so much...

they are so happy and it'south really fun

 to put all dissimilar material

combinations together for each block.

This is the 10" size.

You can come across that each block

 simply needs 3 different prints

 and a groundwork.

I also sewed one of the v" blocks

 for the befouled in my

 Farm Sweet Farm Quilt.

Notice in this one that I

actually used v prints...

a yellowish...a scarlet...a groundwork

 and two dissimilar aquas.

Yous could practise that as well

if you lot wanted because

"You are the Boss of your own quilt!"

But run up you know...

we volition demand to make 4

of the 5" blocks for our quilt:)

Last night I posted

 this photograph on my

every bit a fiddling teaser

for today's episode.

This is my Farm Daughter Tin Mug

that will be available next month!

Isn't it beautiful with a few prints

 from Farm Girl Vintage inside?

The cup features four of the

 Farmers Daughter Block

 and because we need four

in our Vintage Block Quilt...

I thought it would be fun

to brand my four blocks exactly

similar the ones that are on the cup:)

I used 4 different

Bee Backgrounds for the blocks.

Cut for ONE block:

Groundwork-

Cut 4 - one 1/2" ten 3 1/2"

Cut iv - ane 1/two" squares

Center-

Cut i - 1 1/2" square

Cut four - one 1/ii" squares

to go along each side of the center

Cutting 12 - 1 1/two" squares

for the corners

for the tutorial that I did

on how to make the

Farmers Daughter Cake

during my

Farm Sweet Farm Stitch Forth

FARMERS DAUGHTER Block

5 1/two" x 5 1/ii"

Before you run up them into our quilt

I dearest these blocks sew much

and I promise you take fun with yours too!

Thanks for riding along

 with me during the

Vintage Block Along...

See you right dorsum hither

 next week for

another stop on our journey!

20
